Join WRJI for a viewing and discussion of the inspirational historical biopic Rustin, focused on pioneering yet often overlooked gay Civil Rights leader, Bayard Rustin. Rustin was a leading organizer of the 1963 March on Washington and dedicated his life to fighting for racial, economic, and social justice.
Directed by George C. Wolfe, the film star Oscar Nominee Colman Domingo in the leading role. Produced by Michelle and Barack Obama, this film is the winner of the 2024 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Streaming/TV Film among multiple other awards and nominations.
We’ll watch the film together; followed up by a discussion – led by Tyree Oredein ’98 and Natasha Chang ’93.
