In preparation for the winter holiday season, come join WRJI and alum friends to enjoy this funny and moving film based on the true-life events of director Lulu Wang. The film focuses on Billi – Chinese born and US raised, who struggles with her family’s decision to lie to their matriarch in order to protect her from knowing her terminal cancer diagnosis. The film touches deftly and wittily on cross-cultural values and intergenerational communication that is relevant to many diasporic communities.
We’ll watch the film together; followed up by a discussion – led by Tyree Oredein ’98 and Natasha Chang ’93.
