Movie Night: Ava DuVernay’s “Origin”

June 22 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Free

Saturday, June 22
5pm – 8pm ET

WRJI invites you to view and discuss Ava DuVernay’s 2023 film “Origin”. A rich and poignant bio drama, “Origin” tells the story of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson’s personal and intellectual journey as she wrote the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.

The movie has been aptly described as “A moving drama that’s unafraid to ask big questions” and “honors its source material with powerful performances in service of a deeply emotional story.” Join us in uplifting the work of Black female artists and intellectuals such as DuVernay and Wilkerson, and to learn and share with your Wellesley sibs.

Discussion will be led by Tyree Oredein ’98 and co-facilitated by Natasha Chang ’93.
